Strategic Communication (SCM)
teaches you the ways in which organizations communicate in order to accomplish a goal and includes courses that examine communication through public relations, marketing communication, advertising, persuasion and public theory, and communication campaigns.
Corporations, non-profit agencies and government agencies use significant resources to communicate effectively with employees, publics and other audiences.

In this major, students will learn about communication practices within and between organizations including: knowledge management, negotiation, team problem-solving, leadership, inter-organizational relationships, and persuasive communication in sales and marketing.
Another area of interest in strategic communication is the study of communication between an organization and its external audiences. Courses in this area emphasize all areas of public communication, including advertising, persuasion, corporate identity, image repair, and public relations advocacy.
