Study of Tearjerkers Attracts International Media Attention
Research that revealed watching tragic movies makes viewers happy has brought international media attention to the School of Communication and lead researcher Silvia Knobloch-Westerwick.
The study, which found that watching films with tragic stories caused people to think about their own close relationships and boosted their happiness, has been featured on nearly a dozen sites, including ABC News, Time Magazine and National Geographic.
