Walking for Health
BePhit is a walking intervention for middle-aged women, administered via
an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system and cell phones. Outcomes include
steps per day and other biomarkers. This project is funded by the Breast
Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
Pandemic Flu Preparedness
Approaches to risk and preparedness communication are examined using social
marketing techniques, with an emphasis on special populations. An exercise
portal and an online training game for pandemic flu are being designed.

Tailored Communication During Chemotherapy
Patients undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer are encouraged to maintain
a side effects diary on a PDA, which will trigger tailored video clips
based on the patient's side effect profile. The project is funded by the
National Cancer Institute (NCI).
