Holbert, Krieger Elected to ICA Posts
Two professors from the School of Communication were elected to leadership positions in the acclaimed International Communication Association.

Associate Professor of Strategic Communication R. Lance Holbert, left, is the new vice chair for mass communication. Assistant Professor Janice Krieger, right, will serve as intergroup communication vice chair.
Holbert's position represents a four-year term, with the first two years spent as vice chair and the latter two spent as chair. Holbert will serve as the division's program planner for the 2015 (San Juan, Puerto Rico) and 2016 (Tokyo, Japan) annual meetings.
Krieger will help lead the group that studies the ways in which communication within and between groups affects social relations.
ICA is an international association with more than 4,300 members in over 80 countries who are interested in the study, teaching and application of human and mediated communication. Since 2003, ICA has been officially associated with the United Nations as a nongovernmental association.
Holbert and Krieger will assume their offices at the organization's annual meeting this June in London.
