Lantern Brings Home 10 SPJ Regional Awards

The Lantern, Ohio State's student newspaper, won 10 awards, including best website and best online sports reporting, at the Society of Professional Journalists Region 4 competition.

Of the eight other awards, seven Lantern stories and photos earned second-place honors and one submission was awarded third place.

Here is a complete list of winners.

Region 4 includes Michigan, Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The national, 12-region contest received more than 4,000 entries. The honorees were awarded certificates on March 24 at Michigan State University.

The Lantern's first-place honorees have advanced to the national finals and those winners will be announced in late April.
