Academic & Career Information

This is such an exciting time for those considering the field of communication. The School of Communication at Ohio State University actively encourages students to test what they learn in the classroom in real-world settings. Students are encouraged to explore internship experiences that will help augment their studies and provide valuable experience.

Students can earn academic credit for these types of experiences. Some of our students have interned with national news organizations, as well as small nonprofit organizations in Columbus. Because communication is vital for all types of organizations, students are encouraged and coached through the process of developing internship opportunities that are best suited to their own interests.

The private, public and nonprofit sectors have warmly embraced OSU interns and helped provide valuable guidance and expertise. These intern employers and hosts play a critical role in the education of our students.

Information about formal internship postings, tips for developing internships and listings of past intern hosts are included on this site.

Information about the Internship/Career program at OSU's School of Communication can contact Ronda Baldwin at baldwin.185@osu.edu.
