The School of Communication funds nearly every student we admit to our M.A. and Ph.D. programs with either a Graduate Assistantship (that is, as a teaching assistant or research assistant) or some form of fellowship (i.e., University Fellowship or Enrichment Fellowship).
Our
Graduate Assistantship funding packages are very competitive. M.A.
students are funded for two years ($1407/mo. stipend plus tuition
waiver for a 9 month assistantship); Ph.D. students for three to five
years depending on prior academic experience ($1818/mo. stipend plus
tuition waiver for a 9 month assistantship; $1875/mo. stipend for ABD
students). In return for the Graduate Assistantship package, students
are expected to work an average of 20 hours per week as a teaching or
research assistant. The tuition waiver covers both Ohio resident as
well as non-resident tuition.
